Install the script

Install AskAI on any website

AskAI is added with a single script line. Every website builder has a place for “custom code”, “code injection”, “footer code” or “scripts”. Put the line there, on every page, and publish.

Steps

  1. In your AskAI dashboard, open Install on your website and copy your script line. It already contains your own site key.
  2. Find the place in your website builder for code that runs on every page. It is often called Custom code, Code injection, Footer code or Tracking code.
  3. Paste the line into the footer or end of body area (the header works too, because the line loads in the background).
  4. Save and publish your website. Many builders only add custom code to the live site, not the editor preview.
  5. Open your live website in a new browser window. The AskAI button appears in the corner.
  6. Back in your dashboard, press Check installation. When it says the line was found, the assistant starts learning your website.

What the line looks like

Your dashboard shows the exact line. It looks like this, with your own key: <script src="https://…/embed.js" data-key="YOUR-SITE-KEY" async></script>

Add it once per page. If your site uses one shared footer or layout, adding it there covers every page.

It does not show up

  • Check that you are looking at the published site, not the editor preview.
  • Make sure the website address matches the one registered in your dashboard. The assistant only appears on registered websites.
  • Some builders only allow custom code on paid plans. Check your builder’s plan if the custom code option is missing.
  • Clear your website’s cache (if it has a caching plugin or setting) and reload.

Updated November 1, 2026. Menus in website builders change from time to time; if a step looks different, look for “custom code” or “code injection”.
